The graduate program of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering prepares students for leadership roles in industry, government and private research, and education. Graduates with MS degrees in mechanical engineering pursue careers as product designers, research and development engineers, analysts, consultants, educators and more.

The curriculum consists of nine courses – 27 credit hours
- 7 Required Courses – 21 credit hours
- 2 of 4 Technical Electives – 6 credit hours
- Seven required courses are taken by all students in the program. Additionally, each student chooses 2 of 4 technical electives from other engineering disciplines to complete the curriculum.
