Vira Chankong is an associate professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University. His research interests are in the areas of large-scale optimization, multiple objectives optimization, logic-based discrete optimization, intelligent computing, and computational engineering and science with specific application to energy and biomedicine. He is the senior author of Multiobjective Decision Making: Theory and Methodology (published by Elsevier-North Holland in 1983 and Dover Publications in 2010). He also coauthored two other books in multiobjective decision making and risk assessment related to carcinogens. He has several papers in multiple objective optimization, large-scale optimization, systems methodology, and applications of decision theory, optimization and information technology to medical research and engineering design and operation problems.
