Assistant Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Courses: EMAE 481

Focus Areas: Animal navigation, magnetoreception, biologically inspired engineering and robotics

Dr. Brian Taylor uses engineering approaches to understand biological sensation and navigation, and leverages biological understanding to develop novel engineered autonomous systems. His research focuses on animal navigation, magnetoreception, biologically inspired engineering and robotics. In addition to using this expertise to provide students with a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and how they are applied in practice, Dr. Taylor feels that empathy is the most powerful teaching tool.
